Poems for February 3, 3020

The following six poems were written on Sunday, February 2, 2020 with the foreknowledge that they would be published on February 3, 2020 as my (late) contribution to our January “release date” submission theme. My goal was to write poems that would rapidly become meaningless after their date of publication without having the poems themselves disappear or self-destruct.. My hope is that these poems exist in Misery Tourism’s archives for years, completely worthless but still present, like non-biodegradable trash.

The Year of the Rat, Effaced

The rat people will step into the year of the rat in 2020,
and there will be a significant improvement in all aspects,
especially for in terms of career and study.

Helpful persons and strong backers
from different business will
appears around the rat man.

It will be easy to be promoted and appreciated,
but it can also cause the mouse suppressed,
which can lead to a poor spirit
and make the rat can’t show the talent well.
There may be a mass annihilation as well,
therefore the mouse should be particularly careful
on the issues of going-out and health.

Different kinds of bad luck
and bad man may come around
and it is hard to avoid a financial lost,
even serious enough to lawsuit.

But overall, the mouse will be more successful
in the whole year of 2018.
It will be a good year in recent years!

Special tips:
Rat man born in 1972 and 2008
should pay special attention to safety
while those born in 1948 and 1984
should pay more attention to protecting their health.

Canker Sore

Inside my mouth
on the right side
halfway between
the lip and the gum

My right lymph node
is swollen
but my left
is normal

I must resist
the urge to
describe the sore
too graphically

Because
doing so would
imbue this poem
with transcendental power

And someone might
wrongly believe it applies to
a different sore
on a different day
